a number of factors played into Ariel’s release from the company.
One of the prominent issues was the fact that Vince McMahon was not a fan of her look. He was never a big supporter of using her on television; a push from Paul Heyman was the primary reason she made it onto ECW. Ultimately, therefore, Paul Heyman’s departure from the ECW brand marked the loss of a key backer.
That loss of a powerful ally hurt Ariel, whose release came at a time when the newly-promoted Stephanie McMahon was looking to affirm her control of the talent roster. Recently, all of the “marginal” talent was re-evaluated, and a number of releases resulted. Ariel, who lacked the backing of a top creative team member, fell victim to that re-evaluation.
In fact, the fact that she was a “Heyman pick” might have hurt her status, since Stephanie McMahon is far from a Heyman supporter.
Another recent issue worth noting regards an incident that involved her and Batista. While details are unclear, the general belief is that they had an argument, possibly resulting from Batista hitting on her. Batista is very high on the totem pole backstage, so an argument with him is rarely good for one’s political status.
