As the pro wrestling steroid scandal continues and the expected Congress hearing looms, PWTorch.com reports that TNA Wrestling opted not to continue using a wrestler it deemed too big for television.
The wrestler's deal was for the short-term, and TNA decided not to renew the deal.
The Torch says that Andrew "The Punisher" Martin was told that if he wants to come back, he would need to lose a noticeable amount of size. The feeling in TNA is that Martin, by looking the way he did, sent the wrong message to onlookers concerned with the use of growth enhancers in the wrestling industry. It was not necessarily an accusation against Martin, just a concern over the message his size sent.
TNA has told a number of individuals looking for work that jobs will open up when iMPACT expands to two hours in the fall. With Martin, however, this exception is also present.
